Efficient Cell Expansion

YJ Biotech possesses various high-efficiency techniques in cell extraction, amplification, purification formulations, and manufacturing processes, providing high purity and quantity of cells. This capability supports the mass production and clinical trial requirements of various cell types. Additionally, YJ Biotech has an exclusive production process for extracellular vesicles, covering the entire process from cell platforms to sterile filling and pharmaceutical-grade lyophilization. YJ Biotech has also developed analytical technology platforms for assessing the cytotoxicity of immune cells against cancer cells and identifying extracellular vesicles, surpassing industry standards and ensuring quality control.

Immune Cell

  • 01. CIK

Cytokine-Induced Killer cells (CIK) are a type of immunologically active cells with strong proliferation and cytotoxic capabilities. CIK cells exhibit a robust ability to recognize targets such as tumor cells and viruses, akin to missiles, enabling precise attacks without harming normal cells, thus resulting in minimal side effects.
  • 02. NK

Natural Killer cells, abbreviated as NK cells, are a type of lymphocyte belonging to the innate immune system. They possess unique non-specific cytotoxic capabilities, allowing them to attack and destroy various pathogens and tumor cells. NK cells express the CD16 molecule (FcγRIII) on their surface, enabling them to engage in antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). This process triggers the apoptosis of cancer cells or cells infected by viruses. Numerous studies suggest that NK cells have the potential to be developed into allogeneic cell therapies.

  • 03. DC-CIK

DC-CIK cells, where DC stands for Dendritic Cell, involve adding antigen-presenting cells, specifically dendritic cells, during the CIK cell cultivation process. Once dendritic cells are activated and matured, they absorb and present tumor antigens, enhancing the ability of CIK cells to recognize tumors.
  • 04. γδT

γδT (Gamma Delta T) cells are a type of innate immune cell, belonging to a subtype of T lymphocytes. γ and δ represent two different types of protein chains in the receptors of these T cells. γδT cells possess cytotoxic activity, allowing them to attack and kill infected cells or tumor cells directly. This cytotoxic function is crucial for combating infections and controlling the spread of tumors. γδT cells also exhibit characteristics of adaptive immunity, producing various cytokines and chemokines to regulate immune responses. Due to the ability of γδT cells to recognize antigens without being restricted by HLA molecules (MHC restriction), many studies suggest that γδT cells have the potential to be developed into allogeneic cell therapies.

Stem Cell:UCSCs、ADSCs

  • 01. Umbilical Cord-Derived Stem Cells (UCSCs)

Umbilical Cord-Derived Stem Cells (UCSCs) are primarily sourced from Wharton's jelly in the umbilical cord tissue. They possess characteristics such as multipotency, low tumorigenicity, low immunogenicity, high proliferation rate, and easy accessibility. UC-MSCs exhibit typical mesenchymal stem cell properties, including self-renewal and multilineage differentiation potential. They are easy to isolate and culture and have anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory functions, making them widely applicable.
  • 02. Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs)

Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) are multipotent stem cells capable of differentiating into mature fat cells, cartilage cells, bone cells, liver cells, connective tissue, endothelial cells, cardiac cells, and more. They also possess anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory functions, making them widely applicable. ADSCs can be obtained through minimally invasive methods, such as local anesthesia procedures like liposuction. After isolating ADSCs in a compliant cell preparation facility, they are cultured and expanded in vitro. Once the therapeutic quantity is achieved, ADSCs can be administered intravenously or locally injected into the targeted area for disease treatment or tissue regeneration.

Exosomes

Exosomes are tiny extracellular vesicles with a diameter of approximately 30 to 150 nanometers. These vesicles are secreted by cells and are enclosed in a lipid bilayer membrane. They contain various biomolecules, including proteins, nucleic acids (such as DNA and RNA), carbohydrates, and lipids. Exosomes are formed within cells and are then released into the extracellular space, facilitating information transfer and signal regulation between cells. Exosomes secreted by mesenchymal stem cells can modulate the physiological and metabolic processes of recipient cells. This signaling communication can impact the functions of target cells, such as regulating immune responses, promoting cell growth and differentiation, and coordinating tissue repair and regeneration.
